New Hazard lights

So with all the swapping on my truck, my Hazard lights did not work.  So I picked up Alpena Strobe LED Litz, from Advanced Auto parts. These worked out great, I was able to put these in the existing break lights and blinkers in front.  They have different settings that allow me to have the hazard lights, plus it makes great display with the lights.  I recommend these lights for many applications,  thinking about getting a couple more for more light displays on the truck.

New dash

Well the dashboard project is done.  Put in a temp, oil pressure, tachometer, battery gauges.  They are all mechanical and wirk great.  It was a pretty easy project used an aluminum kick plate from Lowes, yup didnt have anywhere else to get the size I needed.  Sunpro gauges right price and liked the style.

Push Start Ignition V2

Didn't need it, found away to get my original design to work. Brought all power to one side of the switch and tied all accessory and ignition terminals from the original stock socket. Then ran a wire from the safety switch to the push button, then the other side of the push button to the starter. Works like a champ.

Push Start Ignition V1

Well I started to create the push start ignition for the truck.  I bought all the parts from O'Riely's parts, but after drilling the plate and mounting all the parts and hooking it up found out the wiring steps I followed wouldnt work.  I had to go get two more switches that should work with the ignition swith.  Stay tuned for version 2.

Finally... A Truck

Well it finally happened I got myself a pulling and mudding truck.  It is the following:

  • 85 Ford F-150
  • 460 cu in.
  • 4 BBL Edelbrock
  • Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold
  • 37" Super Swamper tires
  • 4" suspension lift
Of course it has its own little quirks but heck its old, but its a Ford with a 460.

So I will be using this blog to discuss things I am going to do to it, what I had to fix, how we did in the pulls and many more things.

Stay tuned....
